I think my amp overheated please help?

ok i admit i was playing it loud lot and one day it stopped working and went into "protect mode" its a rockford fosgate 350w and its connected to a 1 12" sub, it wont even hit at all but the amp still comes on and goes to protect. SOMETIMES when the volume is really low it hits for like 3 times then quits. it was really hot for awhile. and i honestly dont know **** about fuses or wires.... can someone help me please?
