How long does possession of paraphernalia stay on a criminal record?

I live in Rockford MI, I got caught with a marijuana pipe. I didn't go to court or anything but I had to go to drug counseling. Does it go off when I'm 18 or does it stay forever? Will it affect my ability to get accepted in to college? (I was a minor when I got in trouble)
