Amp is turning on but sub wont play?

So i just bought a kenwood 900 watt rms monoblock amp and a 12 inch T1 rockford sub. I hooked it up all correctly and the amp turns on but the sub wont play at all... i already tried messing with the gain and the sensitivity. it would be great if you guys could help me troubleshoot the problem...
