What parts of Mexico are least like the US?

Over the years I've been on trips to Tijuana, Mexicali, Juarez, Chihuahua, Acapulco and Cancun and they've all looked and felt like the US to me except the obvious that everyone speaks spanish, people drive the same type of cars,same stores and street layouts, quite similar way of life and so on, I know that I have only been to a tiny fraction of the country but where is the real Mexico?
