What's the difference between preferring a partner of a certain race/ethnicity and having a fetish?

I'm from latin american = south america, specifically, Peru, and my girl is from Korea. We met in college, she was shy at the beginning, but then I earned her trust and now enjoy being together. I don't think it's a "fetish", just depends how you can get along with a certain person, no matter your race. You probably have things in common with those other latin american guys and that's what you find attractive. I can't have the same conversations with most latin women, the same way I would talk to my girl. We also value family as a big part of our lives, so I guess that helps us understand better.
